Body alignment begins with the feet, works up the legs and then to the hips, which are the cradle for the spine. By securing solid points on either side of any joint and circling that joint, you will even out the joint muscles, which is key in promoting alignment. Spinal work is thought of as loosening and strengthening the deep back muscles for re-stacking vertebra into their proper position or keep them perfectly aligned even if in a curve.
Any stretching should be approached gently and holding each stretch in no more than two seconds intervals, releasing and repeating until full stretch is achieved.
As your body changes through direct, but gentle exercises, follow the body’s messages that move through your body to guide you to the next steps needed to heal and realign. The key is to learn your body’s unique language.
